Job Summary
We are a fast-growing, multi-store liquor retail company seeking a Purchasing Assistant with hands-on liquor knowledge to support our purchasing operations. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring accurate inventory flow across all store locations.
The ideal candidate understands liquor products, pricing structures, and high-demand brands, and can operate in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and follow-up are critical.
What You’ll Do
- Create and manage purchase orders (POs) for wine, spirits, and beer
- Verify product details (SKU, bottle size, case pack, pricing)
- Coordinate with suppliers and distributors on orders and deliveries
- Track backorders, discrepancies, and missing items
- Ensure all inventory received matches POs and invoices
- Monitor supplier deals, discounts, rebates, and free goods
- Maintain accurate purchasing records in the system
- Support inventory balance across stores and warehouse
- Work closely with warehouse, store managers, and accounting
What We’re Looking For
- 1–3 years of experience in a liquor store, beverage distribution, or similar environment
- Strong knowledge of:
- Liquor categories (vodka, tequila, whiskey, rum, wine, beer)
- Popular brands and product tiers
- Bottle sizes and case configurations
- High attention to detail (pricing and quantities are critical)
- Strong organization and follow-up skills
- Basic computer skills (Excel and POS systems preferred)
Nice to Have
- Purchasing or inventory management experience
- Experience with Lightspeed or similar POS systems
- Experience working with liquor distributors

Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
